Bonds

Bonds are set after initial interview by Pretrial Services. Pretrial Services will interview each inmate within 24 hours of booking. Bond amounts and conditions are generally returned to the jail by 1:00 PM daily. Different bond types are explained below. In addition to financial conditions of bond, the judge may also order non-financial conditions, such as, no contact with the alleged victim, drug testing or to commit no further offenses. Non-compliance with non-financial conditions may result in a bond forfeiture.

Bond Types

Your personal recognizance, provided that you promise to appear at all scheduled hearings, trials, or otherwise as required by the Court.

An unsecured appearance bond from you or your surety to be forfeited should you fail to appear as required by the Court. For example, someone providing a $10,000 surety shall pay the court $10,000 if you fail to appear as requested by the court.

Cash bail secured by cash deposit of 10% of the bond amount or an amount to be determined by the judge. The entire cash bond will be forfeited should you fail to appear as requested by the court.

The judge may authorize bail credit for time served. If the judge so authorizes, you will receive a credit of $100 per day towards the full cash amount of bail. If authorized, you may pay bail entirely by cash, entirely by bail credit, or a combination of cash and bail credit.

Cash bail secured by cash deposit of 100% of the bond amount. The entire cash bond will be forfeited should you fail to appear as requested by the court. The court may apply bond money to fees, fines or restitution. Bonds on child support cases are generally forfeited to pay support. The state retains a portion of all cash bonds for handling.

All payments of bonds must be in cash with exact change. Bonds over $10,000.00 cash will have to be made in the Circuit Clerk's office.

All persons bonding out of jail will be charged a $55.00 Admin/Booking fee, $5.00 jail bond fee, $25.00 court filing fee and $50.00 per day housing.
